You also implied that they give high scores to cinematic games because they are cinematic which they do not give to all cinematic games. You say that their reviews are based on content, but isn't that a big part of a review and most reviews (major sites at least) take into consideration the fun as a big factor and originality is usually considered a plus so what you are saying is fun is ignored which is false because fun is the first thing a game is reviewed on or should be anyway. Also 'kiddie' games get good reviews too, viva pinata had a kid-friendly aesthetic and was somewhat original and it got great reviews. Reviewers (good ones at least) rate CoD or Uncharted or Halo or whatever game high because it was fun to play first and foremost. |
At least you're addressing my comments as they were now (more or less). It was acting as though I stated something else that annoyed me.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
