You sure sounded upset but I trust you on that one. This time. Do you think your response was any better than his "LMAO"? It was not. Some games target younger people than others. That does not mean that they aren't suitable for audiences above their targeted demographics. A game with E rating is meant to be played by gamers aged 6+, T-rated game is meant to be played by gamers aged 13+ and so on. If someone says that an E-rated game is for kids, he has a valild point. The game has been made suitable for kids and usually targeted for them too. |
Yet, I've been playing M+ games since I was 8. Ratings have very little to do with actual audience. They are just guidelines for what content is present, and how much of it. That gives you an idea whether your kid should play it or not. This doesn't mean that the targeted demographic is that audiences. It also doesn't mean, it is exclusively that demographics. Also, LMAO as a reply isn't only against the rules in this case, but also not a valid response. If he disagreed then I expect him to either tell why, or not post at all. This is a gaming forum, you discuss video games, not disagree with an opinion an not explain why. My response was just playing on his. That may be why it sounded similarly bad, but in reality you can't make much of a better post in response to "LMAO". His response expressed the idea that Mario Galaxy and De Blob are not for Adults. Which is far from the truth.
Also, I forgot to address this "Does it make the game less enjoyable to you or something?". Fortunetely it does not make the game any more enjoyable. I responded, not because I gain benefit from doing so, but because I don't feel we should just ignore or "tolerate" a non-expressed ideal. This is especially considering this is a 'forum'. This is where you talk about a subject or topic. It is completely irrelevant to how much you like or dislike the hobby or game you are discussing. It is more on distinguishing opinions, and ideas as well as stating facts.
@Fab_GS Of course your intention wasn't to offend anyone, but that isn't the issue here.
