It's legs are not near what I expected. The multiplayer is amazing, but the singleplayer is somewhat underwhelming compared to Uncharted 2 and CoD4, which may have impacted the game's legs.

I hope with the third they can conjure up some of the awesome cinematic moments of U2 and CoD4, and preferably improve the story a good bit (make the characters actually likeable, incorporate the backstory more). They had the basics of a good singleplayer there, like the awesome graphics, great AI, great enemy character designs, and great basic level design, but it lacked the scripted "oh shit!" moments of other blockbuster action titles, and the story was just meh.

I think shooters need a great singleplayer to truly sell well. It's the singleplayer that creates a good first impression, and it's what keeps people coming back for more. It was CoD4's short but incredibly sweet singleplayer that got most people to buy in, and it was the multiplayer that kept a good number of those people around. You have to figure that practically half of CoD4 buyers on 360 (and I assume ps3) never played online.

It may get to 3 million if they rerelease it with all the DLC, but I doubt it. Which is sad, because the multiplayer owns.
