Yes I agree. As so many others have noticed, while there was always someone accompanying the protagonist, it was puzzling why they didn't add at least an online co-op.
However I am sure all those minor issues will be resolved in next iteration.
Also its important to notice that the killzone world is nicely setup for some very engaging and revealing storylines. Its critical that they add a good story in the next edition, preferably something revealing the helghan side (Hig campaign?)
I don't care if they use the same engine, its fantastic anyways.
