I get tired of the whole "Apple is more expensive than PC's". People are usually comparing them to crappy E-machines out of wall-mart.
I picked a Sony computer off of Amazon. I consider Apple computers to have better components than Sony, but Sony is one the highest quality PC manufacturers (therefore more expensive than e-machines and Dells).
As you can see, for 2000$ they are very comparible. The Sony has 2GB more RAM, BlueRay and a touchscreen. The Mac has a bigger screen and a much better video card.
Like I said before, these are just two computers I found to compare. I didn't find any Mac that was on sale or some website that sells them for really cheap.
Simply put, Mac does not produce cheap computers. That is why people think they are more expensive than PC. However, find a PC that matches a Mac in quality of parts and power, and the Mac is usually slightly cheaper.
LOL, so to battle the "Apple Tax" you pick out a Sony computer which is also known for having its own "Sony Tax." Seriously, stop being a fanboy, this is not subjective, we're talking about pricing here aka numbers. Like others have said, you can find a PC with better specs for cheaper than a Mac, but you can't add in that "cool" factor that is in every Apple product /sarcasm.
OT, It's funny I just finished watching a Mac commercial where they are talking about "everybody upgrading" but instead of it being to Windows 7, its to "the more stable OS" or something like that. It was dispicable, really.
Edit: These aren't the ones I saw but, you can see basically where there ad direction is going.
The first video didn't show up for me but WOW! The second one is so lame! Haha XP was a great operating system and I don't know how the others ones did but they seemed to work for most people. The really old ones were before my time. I think my first memories of computers were on Windows 98.
