| Senlis said: I get tired of the whole "Apple is more expensive than PC's". People are usually comparing them to crappy E-machines out of wall-mart. I picked a Sony computer off of Amazon. I consider Apple computers to have better components than Sony, but Sony is one the highest quality PC manufacturers (therefore more expensive than e-machines and Dells). http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VPC-L117FX-24-Inch-Desktop-Windows/dp/B002PHM572/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1256260065&sr=1-2 As you can see, for 2000$ they are very comparible. The Sony has 2GB more RAM, BlueRay and a touchscreen. The Mac has a bigger screen and a much better video card. Like I said before, these are just two computers I found to compare. I didn't find any Mac that was on sale or some website that sells them for really cheap. Simply put, Mac does not produce cheap computers. That is why people think they are more expensive than PC. However, find a PC that matches a Mac in quality of parts and power, and the Mac is usually slightly cheaper. |
Just because something is cheap does not mean it's crappy. No matter what Mac you choose, someone will be able to build a PC with higher specs for cheaper. Also, I don't think I've ever heard someone say that Sony has the highest quality PC's either, that caught me off guard. You argument looses merit when you have to choose a specific brand of PC in order to make the cost go up. You buy most of the internals of a Sony computer elsewhere and build what is basically a Sony computer on your own.
