| Senlis said: I get tired of the whole "Apple is more expensive than PC's". People are usually comparing them to crappy E-machines out of wall-mart. I picked a Sony computer off of Amazon. I consider Apple computers to have better components than Sony, but Sony is one the highest quality PC manufacturers (therefore more expensive than e-machines and Dells). http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VPC-L117FX-24-Inch-Desktop-Windows/dp/B002PHM572/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1256260065&sr=1-2 As you can see, for 2000$ they are very comparible. The Sony has 2GB more RAM, BlueRay and a touchscreen. The Mac has a bigger screen and a much better video card. Like I said before, these are just two computers I found to compare. I didn't find any Mac that was on sale or some website that sells them for really cheap. Simply put, Mac does not produce cheap computers. That is why people think they are more expensive than PC. However, find a PC that matches a Mac in quality of parts and power, and the Mac is usually slightly cheaper. |
Sony is a Mac-Wannabe. Also, Mac's are more expensive than PC variants. A quick search on NewEgg found this:

If you wanted to add in a monitor, speakers, mouse, and keyboard which will come at around $400 for very high quality components, it will be $800 cheaper and superior in every aspect of the $2200 Core i7 iMac
