Is there some campaigne against second hand software selling in the US ?

I never heard before that its seen as immoral. And terms like greedier in combination with Second Hand Shops. Wouldnt be all Second Handshops some kind of a problem no matter what they sale. Why should apply for Games other rules then for Dishes or Clothes. Or is a Second Hand Shop always a little bit immoral ? Whats with Ebay I mean that is then the worst of all.

If you resell a car or a TV or something else it always hurts the Big Companies but other companies earn money with that. And its perfectly fine. I cant see the problem. Its good that the money doesnt concentrate on ONE Spot or only a few Spots that would destroy the Economy. Infact its good for the Economy some Companies wont earn as much as they would but other ones are able to exist and make a lot of Jobs. And that results in more Money for the people and so they can buy more thats good for everyone. Its good that second HandShops exist. And its not immoral and if its immoral then reselling any goods is immoral too.

You can't pirate dishes and soap, you can games. Huge difference.

umm, he wasn't saying anything about pirating.

And if you really want to go down the pirating road, you can pirate anything really, ever bought a "rolex" from a shady dude wearing a trenchcoat on the street corner? Or how about buying a painting that turned out to be fake. See, while you had to pay for the "rolex" and the "vangough" painting, somebody made an illegal copy of them, and THAT is pirating.

He was trying to equate dishes to games with a faulty analogy. What you listed is counterfeiting, not the copyright infringement of intellectual property. Counterfeiters also make lower quality items for a reason. I bet they won't be selling you a Rolex made out of gold.

Pirated copies are perfect copies down to the bit, counterfeiting does not produce the exact same results.

Erm, no, his analogy was perfectly fine for all intents and purposes. A counterfit painting is often sold at around the same price as an origional one, it IS a copyright infringement and IS against the law. ( this of course being the case IF the fact that it is a counterfit is not disclosed) BTW what game dev do you work for? You have the same asinine mentallity that many do...The used game market IS GOOD for the devs. to kill it off would be to kill their golden egg laying goose.
