Lol, personally I didn't download a copy for this exact reason. The 25 cents I figure it's worth wouldn't even cover their paypal fees.

But wasn't paying nothing (and hence not incurring any PayPal fees for 2D Boy) an option? If you think it's only worth 25c, but know that paying 25c will see 2D boy out of pocket then paying nothing is better for 2D than paying 25c. So pay nothing and do them a favour. It's those 1c dickheads that have ended up costing 2D money, they should have paid nada.

This is the free market at its freest.

People will pay for a product they see value in even with a flexible price tag. OK so if I could choose what I pay for a PS3, 360 or Wii I'd probably choose to pay less than the manufacturing cost, but I wouldn't pay nothing. I reckon for the entertainment I get from my console I'd voluntarily pay $300 (NZD), which is less than the price-tag of any of the consoles at the moment. I'd also probably voluntarily pay ~$15-20 (NZD) for a full game, which is why I normally buy late and buy used, so that I can pay around the price I think the game is worth to me.

I think this should be done with movies too. You should only pay for a movie once you've watched it. If you loved it you'd pay more, if you hated it you'd just walk out and not look back. It might help keep the number of crap movies down, including the number of crap VG-movie adaptations.

Pay what it's worth to you also eliminates piracy. Who's goint to pirate World of Goo if you can get it for nix?

Is anybody reading the above posts???

2DBoy lost absolutely NO MONEY during this sale. They didn't pay "out of pocket" for ANYTHING. Rather, for any sale under $.30, 2DBoy saw none of that money, as it all went to paypal for transaction fees and all the $.01 sales ended up costing PAYPAL money (fees credit cards charge), NOT 2DBoy.

All in all, 2DBoy made about $100,000 during this sale, and it has been so wildly successful (as stated by 2DBoy themselves) that they decided to extend it for another week.
