The Wii receiving a temporary (or even sustained) boost from a price drop does not mean that price is everything. The leap in logic here is enormous.
Price is not everything. The Wii would have whipped the ass of its competitors from start to finish regardless of the price wars involved. It's the software that sells it, though I allow that price is a factor.
