I only wear them myself if I'm playing Mario Party, or some other game with really wild movements. Haven't really bothered with Metroid and Super Paper Mario, although I sometimes put it on purely out of habit.
However, I'm pretty strict when anyone is playing with my wiimotes. Not that the controllers themselves would break, but they could break windows, knock down TVs and punch holes through walls if you're not careful. Don't fuck with Nintendium, or Nintendium fucks up all of your stuff.
