First off Nintendo won't announce their next console until after Sony and MS, since the NES, Nintendo has never launched first, however Nintendo always works on their next piece of hardware, the second Wii was finalized, they probably began work on the next console after Wii, that's the way Nintendo does it.
Now as for games like RTS and FPS, that's for third parties to step up, Nintendo isn't going to release a game for every genre
