If you look on the medal page only some of the listings have a little trophy symbol next to them, those ones gives an XMB trophy.   Should have used a trophy with needs to 'get all in game medals' though otherwise what is the point of getting them?  You can earm money from multiplayer for it...

What's the point of trohpies? It is just for personal satisfaction, I will try and get all of those medals, just cause.

Oh, and while I do have some criticisms of the multiplayer, Naughty Dog have done a great job. It feels unique and fun, but it is still, like every other game IMO, beaten by Modern Warfare, and has certainly done a good job at boosting the longevity of the game
