^^^Huh? The game isn't even out, so it can't have any word of mouth. Hype can build pre-release, but you can't have word-of-mouth without a product-in-hands.

I'm starting to wonder if this game will actually do worse than expected long-term due to Super Guide. No one wants to feel like they are being babied.

And to whoever said that sales of 5 million wouldn't be a bomb... I disagree entirely. When Mario Kart is on it's way to 25 million lifetime sales, for a main series 2D Mario designed to anchor 2009 holiday, and really a lot of 2010, lifetime sales of 5 million would be a disasterous failure and an embarassment for Nintendo. And even sales of 10 million would pretty much be a bomb. This game needs to sell at LEAST 15 million to be considered a success.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
