They can do what they want of course, but if it were me I'd want to ensure some consistency over the years so you know that a game that got 35 back in 1992 is as good as a game getting 35 today.

I assume you mean a 35 is a good relative to all the other games released today, rather than if you were sitting down now, and you had a game from 1992 which they gave 35 and a game from this year which they gave 35, you would enjoy both equally?

Typically yeah I have as much fun or sometimes even more playing games from yesteryear, sure its not HD or hell even 3D most of the time doesn't make it any less of a damn good game, hell there's a repacking of Pac Man every few years and people still love it musta been then first 10/10 eh ;)
