I'm not all that surprised. The Iphone and the app store are bringing in a lot more money that last year.
Itunes store is generally cheaper than buying from a retail store, which could make it benefit from the economic climate
Sales of mac computers are fairly impressive. Without sounding like too much of a Mac fanboy, I would say that people seem to be choosing the option that is cheaper in the long run, rather than cheaper in the short term
^ I'm probably going to get flamed for that, so here goes at justifying it
Macs don't get as many viruses (The main reason for this is that its more cost effective to make viruses for Windows). The build quality of Apple computers is much better than that of many brands of PCs. Acer being an excellent example.
Could be that there are more students this year. Students love Macs :P
