Why shouldn't they? You're not allowed to drive it, whether you have the keys or not. You would think that after having to pay $1450 in fees you wouldn't even want to risk it, they are just doing what they believe is best. If anything they are doing you a favour. You obviously can't be trusted with the keys as you were driving whilst banned.
Oh and on a side note, I have very little respect for people who drive drunk, it's a stupid thing to do and I hope you have learnt your lesson and wont do it again. I had three friends that died in a drink driving accident once, not cool.

How is it stupid? I want specifics.

Because it endangers your own life and other people's...
Unless you're feeling suicidal and homicidal, then I don't see what rationale people would have for drinking and driving...
|
Well it isn't like people drive drunk because it is fun or for the sake of doing it... Would you consider somebody who had a beer or two with their dinner a danger?

0.8% is the US DUI limit and that is too high anyway imo. If you know you are going to have to drive, and drink beers within an hour of doing so, then you are being foolish.
