They are completely different games but Demon's Souls is dark, creepy, punishing, fantastic. Fallout 3 is also fantastic but even so, for me it just doesn't register "fantastic" on the same scale as DS.
Fallout also gets annoying when enemies no longer respawn and you have tons of barren, enemy-less wasteland. Demon's Souls never has this problem, plus with a difficulty that rises with every new game+, it keeps DS challenging. Falout 3 becomes a walk in the park after enough leveling, there is little challenge from your basic enemies.
Then there is co-op, pvp, being summoned by an in-game boss as a phantom to act as the boss for someone else's game (AWESOME!), it just easily far surpasses it in my opinion.
