Last gen, Sony made you use their shitty overpriced hard drive. The thing is, the only game that needed a HDD was FF11. Microsoft is telling people to buy their proprietary drive or lose all their saves. This isn't a good thing, and people wouldn't be using "unauthorized memory unit[s]" if Microsoft wasn't so keen on pricing them as absurdly as possible.

I'm not entirely sure if they are going after about those memory cards that use flash cards, ms hdds modded for more storage, or both.

Apples to Oranges my friend.  You didn't 'have' to use their shitty overpriced Hard Drive for anything.  Sure it was some pile of junk you could buy but you certainly didn't "need" it.  It's like any pointless accessory like a Steering wheel or Super SNES Gun.  You probably will get minimal use outside of a handful of games from it.

This generation everything is done with the usage of the HDD.    This is total bullshit .

I'm sure FF11 for PS2 required the hard drive, and locked out other drives. It had no other official use as far as I know, but maybe someone can clarify this.

I wasn't trying to say they're identical, just pointing out that while Sony ripped off a few people (namely, those who wanted to play FF11 online on their ps2), Microsoft is ripping off everyone who doesn't get a hard drive bundled with their 360 or who wants to upgrade.
