Doesn't affect me, but it I modded my HDD and put a larger 2.5" into it, updated and then found out I couldn't use any of my stuff anymore I would be pissed. Their accessories are very overpriced to begin with.

Something like this is not a good thing. Now that you can only use their stuff and nobody elses, it allows them to charge as high of a price as they wish and you can't do anything about it.
It was a lot cheaper to open your HDD up, remove the 2.5'' drive and insert a 120GB purchased for $60 from Newegg. Much better than paying the $150 MS charges. That is $90 saved.
