Oh for fark's sake. Wii is my only current gen system. SMG is my fave game of the generation, and NSMBW and SMG2 are my most anticipated games. I've been getting downright obsessive about the new NSMBW media coming out.
This game was initially hyped as Warren Spector's Mickey Mouse Mario Killer. In fact, here's an old Soriku thread about it, from May 2008:

Maybe some people are dissappointed because they are big Wii fans and big Mario fans, and this looks like less of a "Mario killer" than Bonk or Spyro.
