I see late 2011 as a possible release for the next DS, and 2012 for the next Nintendo home console. Nintendo can still sell tens of millions of DS/Wii units in their current forms, I don't think they'll want to lose out on those sales by bringing new machines to the market.
As for HD being included in Nintendo's next machine, they stated years ago the Wii's successor would be HD.
It's near impossible to predict what Nintendo will do, though. I'm hoping we'll get a couple more years out of DS and Wii as they are, really.
