This thread proves that most people don't have a bloody idea about what epic means:
–adjective Also, ep⋅i⋅cal.
1. noting or pertaining to a long poetic composition, usually centered upon a hero, in which a series of great achievements or events is narrated in elevated style: Homer's Iliad is an epic poem.

not everyone has the same expectations, you're generalizing.

Wait what? Somebody posts a fact and it is generalizing? Also what does expectations have anything to do with his post. He was arguing toward the true meaning of "Epic" and whether the people posting in the thread knew what the correct meaning or not. He wasn't arguing against anybody's opinon on the game.

Yeah, the desription of the game does fit an epic. If people had different expectations, that does not change the definition.
