Based on my store, sales would've roughly doubled customer pre-orders if there had been enough supply.
And my store had an unusually high number of pre-orders. We had 8 while the second highest store in the region had 3. We only got 10 copies in, and sold all of those. We had four or so others walk in looking for the game.
Edit: The numbers above me fit perfectly with what I've seen at my store.
