No we are taught that we are Primates, which we are. That basically means, we are apes in a present form, not that we are descended from one. First of all, I can tell you replied to that on the spot because if you scrolled down a bit, you would realize it was a joke. lol. I was mirroring the type of sarcasm in the post I was responding to.

Second, nothing you said is news to me. I didn't once say we came from an 'ape,' I just said ape like ancestor.. which is the truth.. if you believe in evolution...

Which would make perfect sense, considering we are  Apes ourselves. Also I believe anything that has enough scientific evidence to support it's claim or observation.

and what scientific evidence would that be?
