The full game is a bit better, and it was patched later too, but it was never designed as a twitch shooter which seems to irriate a lot of players.

I like to think of it like an old Nightmare on Elm street movie dream sequence; when you try move faster but can't because you're wading through marshmallow.

for me, it adds tension which I enjoyed.
