In an absolutely shocking contradiction, some of the Old Testament laws got thrown out as well. For example, the dietary restrictionwas lifted as what goes into the body does not matter. There are a few others as well, but I am too lazy to list them or look them up.

This does not particularly surprise me (which is to say it surprises me not at all) but I'd love to know which passages you refer to... at some point.
