so i give up on drawing becuase shes going to pester me!

Seriously. If you're going to be an artist, you have to be ready to take some criticism.
Besides, I take what she said as a compliment. Her saying that she thinks you traced them means that you're drawings are extremely good and she can't believe you did it. It certainly means that you're improving as an artist. Don't let someone else win because they got you down.
