Get Uncharted 1, then Uncharted 2. Seriously. Buy it. I just finished my 5th playthrough
You may have to wait until after the holiday season to go back and play the classics, but if you had to get 5 old games (excluding UDF) here is what I would recommend:
Killzone 2
inFamous
LittleBigPlanet
GTA IV
CoD 4
{I can't tell if you have a 360, if you do then get Ratchet ToD and Motorstorm PR instead of the last 2}
