| Euphoria14 said: @Slimebeast It pays homage to numerous 8-bit titles. It is just that the gameplay is very similar to Zelda, Golden Axe Warrior, etc... It also has some Alex Kidd, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Spelunker, etc... Everything copies something else in one way or another. If the gameplay still works great I see no reason to complain. Would everyone really be happier if we just let that style of gaming stay dead? I just don't get it sometimes. |
As I said Im not sure about it. I just got this sort of uncomfortable feeling when I keep hearing the Zelda tunes in my head watching those video clips, the music is that similar. So I can't decide if it's only paying homage, or if it's also stealing credit from other people's creations.
It would be fun to know how Miyamoto feels. Cause usually not every original creator is happy about rip-offs. David Jaffe is just one example of many who get annoyed by copy-cats.
I fully agree with you about preserving older game styles though. In that way 3D Dot heroes is lovely.
