It depends on if either one has a killer app. And the third parties can gush all they want, but if there isn't a killer app, those third parties are making the same mistake by jumping on the HD bandwagon with no thought of the escalating costs.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
