I'm not disagreeing at all about the principle, i've actually brought the subject up myself every now and then, it's just that there are lots of other portable devices you can play games with aside the ones mentioned.
Lots of kids seem to be using their mobile phones as portable game players because their parents don't buy them a handheld console, but they will buy a mobile phone, so the kids get a phone they can play games with.
I myself use my phone primarily for SMS/MMS, making phone calls and internet browsing.
