i'm sure everyone has seen this but what i saw this past weekend was pure fanboy act...sorry fangirl act....i just had to post it up even though there are many similar stories like this....
so anyways...i'm at bestbuy last week...i'm thinking of reserving a copy of uncharted 2....which i did btw...so...i browse around for some more games see anything has price drop or sale...nothing really catches my interest...so the worker asks me if i needed any help...i told her no i'm just browsing around...ok...
someone walks up to her saying he needs to help picking out a console...she explained about all 3 console...ok fine...she mentioned everything about the consoles...nothing bad about any of them....so the man ask the worker which would be ideal for his son...he said his son is 13...so she tells him that wii would be good....he also mentioned that the son wanted a racer game...and sim racer...he specifically says not an arcade racer...he said no mario cart or anything like that....
so she walks him over to the ps3 and xbox....she said ps3 has gt5 and xbox has forza...blahblahblah...ok so...now here at this moment...the man decides immediately that he doesn't want xbox..at this point i had no idea why and no interest in why...but will find out later why he immediately decided to go with ps3...
now it was either ps3 and wii...ok fine...now he ask which would be more suitable...she does mention ps3 has more M rated games so it might not be good for the kid and etc...wii would be better if he wanted other games...then he says...no that's not a problem....then the worker starts talking about mario cart saying it's a fun game....and it's better than gt5...saying you can get bored of gt5 while mario cart you won't...uhhhh ok...matter of opinion..but ok....
he kept insisting that it doesn't matter...that he wanted a ps3 now he knows the difference...he specifically said his son wants a realistic racer and that he'll buy the steering wheel as well...he already knows the price at this point so price isn't the problem at all...ok...that fine...but she keeps insisting that ps3 would get too boring and stuff....wtf??...why would any worker say that...he pretty much made up his mind...she keeps trying to get him to buy a wii...well she realized that she couldn't sell him a wii...
so what does she do now??...she says buy an xbox....it's got the same realistic driving experience...with less M rated game(HAHAHAHAHA) so you dont have to worry...and tells him it's cheaper....etc.etc..etc....but the man said sumthing about failure rate....that he read that xbox failure rate is high..and that was the reason why he said he definitely did not want an xbox...blahblahblah...the worker tells him that he read stuff wrong and that the ps3 failure rate is just as high....wtf??...even if ps3 was 20% failure rate...it'll still be lower than an xbox...
talk about dedicated fangirl...more like anti-fangirl...doing watever it takes so that the customer doesn't buy a ps3...i was wondering why that specific best buy always had such a small PS section..
p.s. - i didn't stay long enough to see if she persuaded him to not buy a ps3...
