Why would anyone want to buy a bad game omg?

Only game with rating under 8 I've bought this gen was Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (which I loved!). But when I'm deciding on a new game to get, I double check reviews and score, they are really important for me, since I don't have time to waste over average games.

So you let reviewers decide what games you buy? That's kinda lame.

Well I assume, when the game is well rewieved and reviece an universal acclaim... it will be great?

What else should decide which game to get, since I've bought consoles for the first time in this gen (been a long time pc gamer)? I didn't know much series except for those famous IP's such as Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Halo, Zelda... When I'm deciding which game to get, I read the reviews, look at meta score, If I'm still in doubt I check some gameplay video. Ideally there is a demo, but that's not the case for older titles or some titles at all in EU.

I'm not the kind of guy, who can play games for hours and hours every day. So I have to be picky... I still have more than 30 titles waiting in the line to be played (and they are all supposed to be great titles), while I'm buying other titles that catch my attention.

Well, there are plenty of highly reviewed games that I did not like at all and some low reviewed games that I did.

Reviews are helpful for games where you are on the fence, but I never take them as gospel. I mean, listening to reviews, I'm told GTA4 is one of the best games of all time. I highly disagree and don't even consider it a good game.

Well than you are living in denial... GTA4 is definately a good game, even if it's only your opinion, denying it's quality is very biased bs (no not a bulletshot).

Ofc I pick only games I might enjoy. I'm not a retard that would look at meta and ordered the first 20 highest rated games for that system. I have my favourite genres, so I buy high quality games from those. Than time to time some game from for me unusal genre catch my attention, I get to know as much as I can about it (hopefully without spoilers) and than I buy it. This way I've discovered DMC 4, which really isn't my kind of game.

But the point I'm trying to make since my first post is = If the game is universaly criticaly accepted, it can't be bad. Than it's just a matter of your taste. And since I know mine, all of the picks I've made were successful (except for Burnout, oh god how I hate that game).

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising
