Well I assume, when the game is well rewieved and reviece an universal acclaim... it will be great? What else should decide which game to get, since I've bought consoles for the first time in this gen (been a long time pc gamer)? I didn't know much series except for those famous IP's such as Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Halo, Zelda... When I'm deciding which game to get, I read the reviews, look at meta score, If I'm still in doubt I check some gameplay video. Ideally there is a demo, but that's not the case for older titles or some titles at all in EU. I'm not the kind of guy, who can play games for hours and hours every day. So I have to be picky... I still have more than 30 titles waiting in the line to be played (and they are all supposed to be great titles), while I'm buying other titles that catch my attention. |
Well, there are plenty of highly reviewed games that I did not like at all and some low reviewed games that I did.
Reviews are helpful for games where you are on the fence, but I never take them as gospel. I mean, listening to reviews, I'm told GTA4 is one of the best games of all time. I highly disagree and don't even consider it a good game.
