I find that quite a bit of people couldnt get into the game. I think the Prime subseries is the best series to be released in the last 10 years, however, the very purpose of a Metroid game is a nonlinear exploration based game. You do what you want to, how you want to, and when. For a lot of people it could be too much thinking. Id say that most that dont like the games simply dont want, or cant cope with the mental challenge.

Of course, some people simply dont like the slower pace of the Metroid series (excluding Corruption).

Thats a very friendly way of calling most who doesn't like Prime morons. I totally disagree. Some of us just prefer a more linear experience. I hardly mock open world gamers for all the wasted time they spend bumbling around the sandbox. Point is, its a matter of taste not some kind of mental superiority.

Yeah agreed =/

How is walking the same path back and forwards too much thinking anyway? It's like a book making you read pages 1 and 2, but making you skip page 3, read page 4 and 5, then read page 5 and 4 again to get back to page 3. I just find it a bit annoying more than anything else. I'm not bashing the Prime series but I prefer a more linear experience just because it's more enjoyable. To be fair I've really enjoyed playing through Prime 1, but it would've been better with more linearity.
