I don't think anyone has any realistic expectation of NSMB Wii selling 5+ millions in Japan. It's a given that it won't sell as good as the DS one.
Even if it only reaches 30% of the DS version sales, that's 1.7 millions which is a pretty big game by itself. If by any chance it reaches 40% or more of the DS version sales, that's 2.28 millions which would be bigger than any PS3 games in Japan.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
