I do think Microsoft and Sony will not release consoles next generation if they can't turn a profit this generation in at least one year.
Nintendo makes videogaming a profitable business and doesn't have the cash from other sectors to boost them so they can go all out and make a crazy console with some new 500 dollar drive and a 9GHz processor.
Anyway, there is the possibility that Nintendo will never fall from their throne again. They have fallen and risen three times in the last 30 years: in the 80's, then they fell back to Sega for a few years; but rose again in the 90's, fell to Sony for almost a decade; but have since risen far higher than any gaming company ever has.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
