Rich. We have the format wars, and a non-contender comes from behind to knock out the winner. Now that is irony.

LOL, this isn't irony. This is the way the universe works. It's always has been and always will be. In all sorts of business everywhere. Barnum and Bailies circus trounced by Circus De Soliel. Big Wood radio boxes by crappy transistor radios of Sony. TSR D&D by WotC MtG. Nintendo & Sega by Sony PS1. MS & Sony by Wii. The non contender that appeals to the consumer convience WINS. Ok yeah it is Irony, but one we should stop being surprised by and expect.

On another note. I don't like Walmart. I wouldn't be surpised that Walmarts business strategy of forcing companies and customers to expend more money to outside countries is part of the economical problems though not the sole reason. Regardless of personal opinion there is no denying that Walmart is a powerhouse of a company that can make or break companies. They have weight over the consumer and economy. With Walmart deciding to drop DVD support can only spell bad trouble for the medium.  I prefer digital mediums myself, but the validity of it is aweful due to the random bandwidth and limitations currently imposed in North America. I don't want to have to start paying extra money if I exceed my bandwidth watching movies. I don't want stutters because I may be with Cable internet service and it's peak time. I guess we will see what happens over the next few years. But wouldn't that be ashame for Blu Ray, so much effort, R&D, marketing push only to for it to get phased out just as it would have hit it's peak.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
