Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today revealed it’s continuing marketing plans for the highly anticipated Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Developed by Naughty Dog, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is set for release on October 16th 2009 in the UK.
The Television advertising may have already begun with a teaser trailer, but this coming Monday, October 12th, will herald the arrival of a full-length trailer in full High-Definition broadcast for a four week period, including slots during the England World Cup qualifying matches. This will be supported by ten week sponsorship campaigns of both Sky One’s Friday Night Movie, set to include the likes of Mission Impossible and X-Men, and the Discovery Channel’s “Adventure & Survival” programming. Cinema campaigns are said to run a different full-length advert, utilising all in-game footage, commencing on October 23rd.
Online advertising officially began last week after a long-run of a pre-order website, and shall continue to increase in it’s placement throughout October and November. Print advertising shall be arriving imminently, with specialist and lifestyle media publications such as T3 and Official PlayStation Magazine expected to hit shelves any day. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves shall also feature prominent advertising in The Sun newspaper.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is one of the most anticipated PlayStation 3 release on 2009, often compared as the system’s Halo 3: ODST equivalent. Whether or not the game will serve up such a storm at retail remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: Sony are certainly trying their hardest. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
