Didn't Sony promise the PS2 would be the first console with Toy Story graphics? =O

They also promised the PS2 could produce 'FMV quality graphics like FF8 in real time'.  Yeah, that didn't happen.

Also, I wouldn't call Joe Hisaishi an 'off the wall Japanese composer'.  Especially since the teams at Pixar and Disney practically worship everyone connected to the Ghibli works as making movies superior to their own.  Getting Joe Hisaishi to do any bit of music for ANY Disney related project would be the ultimate lifetime achievement for many Disney/Pixar workers, next to working on a project directly with Miyazaki himself.
