Sony built this thing well.

hell yea , it is the most durable of dem all(1000)

i've been reading up alot on psp homebrew since launch...but sadly, i got my PSP1000 late (january 2007)

hacked it by myself october 2007 (hard modded the battery into pandora battery and made a magic stick)

and another thing that makes the 1000 the best out of all the others is the ir port at the top.....which can be used as an universal remote !

man i fckn love the 1000 !
