PSP-1000 is better just because of the 1.50 kernel.
Trust me, I know. I have been following the PSP scene since the days of 1.00 and have had a modded PSP since the very first day the KXploit hack came out for 1.50 users.
Were talking over 4 years now. 
I still own my (2) wonderful PSP-1000s.
