is this game story driven??? b/c thats the deciding factor for me.

One thing BioWare are known for is the deep stories in their games. So yes.

Nope, they were known for it during the BG2 days, and it's almost a decade since than.

If you don't think KOTOR and Mass Effect have deep stories, I'd like to know what you've been smoking.

I have been smoking Xenogears, Final Fantasy Tactics(Please, one of the best games ever, but the story is mediocre), Planescape: Torment, Xenosaga and Chrono Cross.

Now i'm gonna explain to you why KotOR's story isn't deep:

-There are no characters who are really deep and important to the storyline - none.(Bastila much?)

-Most of the game you're going to random places (the four planets, and even in the last one there's no development to the story).(The game is character driven and non-linear. All of Biowares games are. That is why the story takes place during either random or preset events. The main storyline is never the "story," in any good storybased game. For instance, in FFVI, the main storyline was "Stopping people from killing the world." It's the things that happen inbetween, and the journey with those characters that make the real meat of the story. The small sidestories and character development that make it great. By your logic, no Tales game could ever have a good story, because the arcs are generic, but the caracters are great. Character development is the most important part of narrative. That and atmosphere, and KoToR has atmosphere galore)

That said, the main storyline in KoToR is great also.
-There is only one twist in the game, you could've barely see it coming, and it doesn't have much of an effect on what happens later.(the greatest twist in videogame narrative history, according to most lists)
-Ordinary, run-of-the-mill villian, who's reason for being evil is because he's evil.(Did you even play it. Do you even know who the villian is? Saying who it is, would be a spoiler)

Do I really need to continue?(this is the one of the highest reviewed and fanloved/fanmodded games in human history, and totally owns the RPG genre on gamerankings, making it in the top 10 with two different versions).

Most WRPGs never were about a deep, main storyline, they were about RP, and options, and about choosing your path and reaply value, not about a deep, character and plot driven storyline.

KoToR has both, that's why it's so great.

BS, in other words. You're just a PC fan who wants to make it seem as if all the good story driven games are on PC. The best story in a game I've played is Hotel Dusk. I bet you'd agree if you'd played it, and know anything about literature and atmosphere, but you probably don't judging by this post.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
