Darth, the past trend of "a sequel doesn't sell more" doesn't take into account the fact that, as far as I know, there have never been such in improvment from title to title on the same console + a console just gains a ton of momentum + a console suddenly gets much better advertising.
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
