Nintendo made the same mistake that they did last year. They expected that with only a couple of games, sales would be sustained once again for a whole year. It failed last year with AC:City Folk and Wii Music. It's failing now with WSR and Wii Fit+, so they had to resort to a price cut or sales would have been abysmal in comparison to what they projected, since NSMBWii doesn't come until the end of the year.

for the lack of SW, which killed the momentum by creating disinterest in potential buyers towards the console.

That's not really fair, tres:

Neither WF+ or WSR is the big holiday title like AC:CF and Wii Music were.  NSMBW is.  So it's not the same situation.

I agree that Nintendo totally blew it with software release scheduling; and that all stemmed from AC:CD and Wii music not having the desired effect on hardware sales that Nintendo expected.  But let's wait and see how things play out.  Japan looks like it'll be where Wii needs the most help, but WF+ just launched - wait and see what it does.  Although I don't expect it have a huge impact on hardware, it will help.
