Playstation 3's Heavy Hitters for Quarters 1-3 of 2010:

Gran Turismo 5

M.A.G.

God of War 3

Modnation Racers

White Knight Chronicles

Heavy Rain

The Last Guardian (maybe Q4)

Agent (maybe Q4)

Microsoft's Heavy Hitters for Quarters 1-3 of 2010:

Crackdown 2
Alan Wake
Splinter Cell - Conviction
Mass Effect 2

If Sony hasn't DRASTICALLY closed the gap on Microsoft by September 2010, how will they handle the following in Quarter 4 for Microsoft?:

Gears 3 (maybe)
Fable III
Halo Reach
The Launch of Natal Embedded XBOX360 w/New Games

I agree with this post.

Also, much of that Sony lineup actually looks pretty weak, only fanboys see many of those as big games. WKC, Heavy Rain, Last Guardian, Agent (not even sure what that is, that mmo?) The next big game from rockstar north.. and MAG all are potentially non factors to niche titles at best imo. For example, sure Heavy Rain gets a lot of internet hype, but it's not the type of game to sell a lot imo.

There's also pricing considerations, will either MS or Sony be prepping a price drop in fall 010? It could have an effect. I think MS is more likely though, as Sony had to work really hard to get down to 299. Theyll stay there a while imo.

One caveat, personally it's a bit of a fun mystery, but I'm thinking Gears 3 wont hit in fall 010. Why? Well, MS will have Reach, and it seems unlikely they'll promote two such massive titles in nearly the same genre, in the same holiday season.

At first I thought there was a possibility Gears 3 might be multiplatform, but recently another idea came to me..Clffy has strongly hinted that the next Gears will have RPG elements (he has stated FPS are turning into RPG's, and hinted you will see that in Gears 3. I believe he was referring to the way COD4 and Halo 3 introduced some MMO elements into multiplayer).

So to me if theyre doing any kind of major overhaul to Gears to make it more RPG-ish, then it seems likely it may take an extra year to develop, 3 years instead of 2, which works out perfectly with Microsofts schedule with Reach.
