Who says Wii price wasn't ever a problem especially with wii sport you have to spend $60 for another controller? The fact that a $50 cut made a huge impact on sales obvious shows that to a lot of people $50 isn't just pocket change to them. $50 could be the difference between getting their children a Wii or not for Christmas.
Just like someone pointed out in another thread ps2 sold the most units when it was under $200.
