Actually, I meant screen resolution (although I don't think I clearly stated that). They could do a 2.5D game that has loads of polygons and texturing, but it would still be small per object.
So it's not about resources, it's about visibility. That cannot be ignored. Muramasa and Wario only have to make it clear for one player, not 4.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
