Demon's Souls won't end up wtih a AAA score when the dust settles. It's appeal is very limited. Jrpg fans are very overrepresented (and vocal) on internet forums in general (if you looked at the internet you'd think these games were uber popular when in fact they sell little in the west outside of the big franchises: Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon), especially on vgchartz. So don't think that the game will get universal critical acclaim just because jrpg and ATLUS fanboys love it.
Had From Software included difficulty sliders for this game (to make it easier) it would have more appeal but I don't think it would have that much more appeal. Demon's Souls from the looks of it reminds me of old-school dungeon crawling wrpgs (which is not unusual for a title published by ATLUS. They've published and developed a number of wrpg/jrpg hybrids before). It doesn't have the feel of a modern wrpg (think Bethesda, Bioware, 2K Games or Fable).
